Whistling Thorns is a quiet, homely, informal kind of place with emphasis on the outdoors, run by Mike and Marie Louise and the staff.

In 1990, whilst organizing horse riding safaris, Mike & ML thought this area was a lovely spot to chill out: grand view of the Ngong Hills, open plains, game, birds and peace and quiet. Yet not too far from Nairobi.

The main house and guest cottages were built by Mike and with the help of Mutinda and others. Trees were planted, the swimmingpool was constructed, and now we are open for business daily to share the magic with others.

Our facilities are clean, comfortable and affordable. Our clients come from far and near: overseas visitors mingle with day trippers from Nairobi.

Our food is fresh (vegetables are locally grown) and home cooked and our menu is varied. Kitchen is open daily from 08.00 to 20.00pm. We also cater for groups.
